The Betty Kennedy Scott Strom Scholarship Fund was established to provide an educational opportunity annually to a Council Grove High School graduating female senior or alumna pursuing a degree or certificate at an accredited Kansas college or technical school or at Cottey College.

Betty  was born in Council Grove in 1921 and was a 1939 graduate of Wilson High School, now Council Grove High School. She attended business school in Topeka, KS, then returned home to pursue a long career as an administrative secretary.

Twice widowed, Betty knew at an early age the value of education and training for women. This scholarship was established by family and friends following Betty’s death in 2021.
