The Katie Buchanan Gant Scholarship was established to provide educational opportunities annually to Council Grove High School seniors and alumni students pursuing a college degree with preference, but not limited to healthcare, in memory of Katie Buchanan Gant. 

 

Katie attended Council Grove Elementary, Middle and High School. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, the Council Grove Swim Club as well as a Braves Cheerleader. 

 

She graduated from Ft. Hays State in 2002, with an associate's degree in radiology technology and a bachelor's degree in medical diagnostic imaging. Katie earned her master's degree from Baker University in 2007. In 2008, she and her family moved to Burlington. She was employed as Director of Radiology at Allen County Hospital in Iola, KS.

Katie enjoyed traveling, shopping, helping others and spending time with family. She loved being a wife and mother. Her children were the loves of her life.
